Our Covid-19 policy

The worldwide spread of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, has significantly impacted our lives, businesses, and economies. 

In light of the recent events, The Gaby Restaurant and Bar has issued an operational policy statement to ensure our guests’ experience is enjoyable and in the safest environment.

The policy developed by our team of hospitality professionals in line with guidance from the Lagos State Government sets what steps The Gaby has taken to minimize the risk to our Restaurant Staff, Customers, Visitors, and Contractors.

This policy is focused on enhanced cleaning practices, social interactions, and workplace protocols across the business while ensuring the Guest and Employee experience is enjoyable and safe.

  1. Preventative measures for the spread of COVID-19:
  • Should a customer develop symptoms associated with Covid-19 after arranging a booking with the restaurant, Customers should contact our reservations immediately to reschedule the booking.
  • We have set a limit on the number of guests and staff in the restaurant at any one time to help us practice social distancing as per government and health guidelines.
  • If advised that a member of staff or public has developed Covid-19 and were recently on our premises, we will conduct a disinfecting exercise of the entire facility and contact the public health authority to discuss the case, identify people who have been in contact, if necessary. 
  • If The Gaby is informed of any employee exhibiting symptoms associated with Covid-19, we will require the individual to stay at home for the recommended self-isolation period before returning to work.

2) Bookings:

If confirmed a guest has COVID19, The Gaby will take the right to refuse the booking and seating to ensure the safety of the work environment for all persons on the company premises.

3) Staff Training:

  • The Gaby has provided mandatory COVID-19 Preventive Measures training for all staff.
  • Gaby Staff are trained on how to wear personal protective items. Signage will also be visible across the sites with a specific description of how to use the PPE. 
  • All staff will be informed of any updated information and be trained according to the government’s guidelines.

4) Protective Equipment:

 . The Gaby will provide Face masks to their operating team, Hand sanitizers on each of our restaurant areas for staff and guests to use, and at the front door to use upon entry and exit the restaurant.

  • Hand washing facilities with antibacterial soap and disposable paper towels have been provided at all times.

5) On-site Procedure:

  • Frequent cleaning and disinfecting objects and surfaces that are touched regularly, particularly in areas of high use such as door handles, light switches, reception areas using appropriate cleaning products and methods.
  • You will need to keep all your personal belongings with you, so please bring a bag to put your coat or jacket and any other personal items away.
  • Set up the table plan for the restaurant following the direction provided by the government in regards to the COVID-19 and distance measures.
